I am a sucker for beautiful, user-friendly visualizations of information. For the past two weeks my Earth/Environmental Science students have been toiling away on a project in which the are analyzing the connection between earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and time. If all goes well, at the end of the project they will be able to discuss whether or not earthquakes and volcanic eruptions happen randomly or if they connected and occur in batches. Our school cybrarian just forwarded me a link to ninepointfive.org. This beautiful site integrates all of the project elements that the students have been working on, and does so in a beautifully interactive, visually appealing way. I would highly recommend checking out the site. One word of warning, you will need Google Chrome to fully appreciate this resource.
