HIV is one o those topics that people love to hate. On one hand it is a devastating monster that has dramatically affected the lives of millions worldwide. One the other hand, it is an intensely interesting virus that behaves like few others. As you know, if you follow the blog, my AP students always get a quarterly project. This quarter the students are working on HIV. They will be turning in multiple products along the way (which I intend to share), will have the opportunity to work with a researcher from Duke university, and ultimately will propose a course of treatment for the disease. I'm always excited to see what my students come up with. The first phase of the project was about the basics of HIV. Their goal was to learn the virus and how it compares to other viruses. Many of the groups put together quite outstanding presentations. For the sake of brevity, however, I will be highlighting just a couple in this space. Enjoy!
